The Halia warming team is overjoyed to announce that in the development of the Halia® digital warming surfaces platform we’ve recently reached three major milestones in our intellectual property rights (IPR) protection strategy. Including first granted IPR in warmth-as-a-service.
New granted IPR assets in our portfolio now include
1st granted patent for patent family: Heat Emission Control in Radiator Heater Matrix (FI20235486)
1st granted patent for patent family: Personalized Heating Transactions in Public Spaces (US12450616)
Trademark registration expansion: Halia is now a registered trademark also in the United States of America
Halia® warming surfaces are designed to increase control of heat generation in living and public spaces, for improved energy efficiency and thermal comfort. These new patented inventions build on the ability to embed ultra-low voltage heaters into surface materials, and are central building blocks in our strategy to embed sustainable warming into furniture, building materials, and other surfaces.

Our company roots are in a culture of impact driven business built on patented innovations and solutions. The Warming Surfaces Company’s initial IPR portfolio was developed at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT). VTT invested the IPR into the company at spin-out and remains a shareholder through VTT Holding Oy. We continue to develop and expand our patent families, to protect and accelerate the development of Halia® warming surfaces platform.
Halia is now a registered trademark in three trademark classes in the United States of America. Previously the trademark has been granted registration in the EU, UK, and Norway. The trademark is also in WIPO trademark registration process.
