We strive to help our customers grow their carbon handprint, to reduce energy and resource consumption of heating in living spaces, while improving the health, comfort of inhabitants, as well as their work efficiency.
Our products and operations are designed according to the principles of a circular economy—we use minimal materials and the materials we use are recyclable and reusable. We also have a low energy production process, with lightweight materials that reduce our carbon footprint.

The Warming Surfaces Company Ltd is commercializing - under the trademark Halia - an innovative, patent-protected, heated surface system that enhances comfort of living spaces, while optimizing energy efficiency.
Established in Oulu, Finland 11/11/2022, the company is a spin-out from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and its science-based incubator program VTT LaunchPad. Alongside the Co-Founders, current shareholders include VTT, Innovestor, CM-Equity AG, plus private investors from 7 countries. Its developments have received co-funding support from Business Finland, ELY-keskus(Finnish Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment) and the EU.

Halia team
The founders met for the first time in 2002 as a young materials scientist, industrial designer and business developer in ground breaking research initiatives led by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland to develop novel smart functionalities onto roll-to-roll producible materials such as paper. For over 20 years they individually and jointly contributed to a large body of industry pioneering research and product developments in the field of Printed Intelligence and flexible electronics. Their paths converged again in 2022 around a large area pixelated warming technology.
Originally developed by VTT in response to needs in the military sector, this technology showed huge potential as a solution to heating related challenges in several industries. The Warming Surfaces Company was founded as an impact driven deep tech company.
